Haul: Callie’s Picks - Reddy for Fall

A on Wednesday, a fortnight after the Grunge collection, we had a new Callie's Picks release. I know people have generally negative option about the store but I actually do like it (aside from the high prices and the way the outfits are laid out). So what if the Sonia Rykiel or the Pleather Platforms are no longer worth hundreds of Stardollars - if you were going to sell them you ought to have done it by now; if you bought them for them an outrageous price (like I did my platforms), that means you wanted them so they were worth it for you; and if you are a collector your item still has an original tag (unlike the pieces that used to be re-released in the Archive store). Besides, he whole idea to collect and want clothes on Stardoll because they rare is a bit odd to me (though I can see the appeal of owning he Heidi Klum dress), when put an item on my whishlist it's because it's beautiful and interesting not because it's worth a lot. OK, I've shared my view on the store, now let's take a look at the collection.

First of all, the name - "Reddy for Fall", I know it's silly but it cracks me up every time. My native language is Bulgarian and even though it's reach and versatile, and quite unique, it leaves little place for puns. This is why I'm always so impressed and fond of them, even the silly ones as this one.
The collection itself is impressive with it's abundance of tribute and real brand items, a few of witch were quite rare up to their re-release. But when you leave the brands aside, it kinda loses it's charm. The different shades of red clash with each other in a less than flattering way, the clothes and accessories are forced together (and I don't mean just on the mannequins) in a common theme in very random way and more than a few of them belong in Spring/Summer rather than in a Fall one. Not to mention that some (such as the Marabou Vest) would've been better off left out and forgotten all together. I thought it would be interesting to separate the post in two parts - things that I actually bought and things that I already had and share my thoughts about their value.

Before we start, I just wanna state for the record that this time I managed to restrain myself from extravagant purchases, especially given the fact that I had my eye on a few dresses - the Printed Bow Neck Dress (which was impeccably styled by kotka888MxD on KAMIZELKE), the Longoria Dress (the design is so interesting but the belt is so ugly, as stated by ilgd in her review on the Stardoll Broadcast ) and most importantly - the Red Satin Dress (which would've been a must have in real life - with combat boots and a leather jacket! - but something in Stardoll design is a bit off and I can't put my finger on it). I only bought six items, three of which have been on my wishlist for ages and I couldn't be happier for finally getting my (virtual) hands on them:

1. Floral Embroidered Jkt - 15SD
I think this was originally from Bizou, I remember seeing it in the Bazaar on rare occasions always for obscene amount of money and I've had it on my wishlist for a about a year and a half. It's lovely - the pattern could be either bold or adorable depending on how you style it, and it's totally worth your money.
2. Velvet Belt - 4SD
There is nothing special about this one, I just thought it may be useful to have a simple wide belt in red.
3. Red Harlequin Bag - 9SD
This is a tricky one. It doesn't look like much - the strap fits oddly in your doll's hand and the bag itself hangs kind of weird. BUT I love the colours and the pattern, and I have the same one in very dark blue (Archive, 4SD) so I know that rotated and resized it makes for a stunning clutch. Is it worth to pay 9SD for a clutch, though? Probably not.
4. Studded Stage Jacket - 20SD
My most expensive and least needed purchase. I love leather jackets and I really like the collar on this one so much that I just knew I'd regret not buying it now and end up spending even more on it in the Bazaar once it's gone.
5. Burgundy Ruffle Blouse - 12SD
Originally from Givenchy Tribute, this another item I've wanted for a long a time. It's not without its flaws and I think it would look batter with a jacket on but for it's price, it's a steal. Keep in mined that this is an elegant piece and may be difficult to work it in a more casual or street style outfit.
6. Burgundy Shoulderbag - 12SD
And finally, my dream come true. Once I saw this bag for less than 200SD and I was considering buying it (so glad I did not!). The only thing that stopped me was it's length, which is a tat to short for my taste. Other than that, the design is gorgeous, the colour is stunning, the details on it are silver and not gold (off topic rant: adding gold is Stardoll's favourite way or changing things I like and it's also main reason for my doll to wear a lot more gold than I do), even the buckle on that bag is amazing! This is my absolutely favourite piece of the collection.

I feel the need to complain that even though I only bought six items, I ended up composing a hideously long post. The unconsidered purchases of my past are haunting me (I'm looking at you, Lapin Coat!). It's been a while since I've found myself already heaving so many things from a Callie's Picks collection. Few of the items above have been brought out of storage for the sake of this comparison but most of them have a cherished place in my closet for ages. I think it's going to be fun to see how their prices and my perception of them has changes since the time I bought them and their current re-release. I also need to state that some of these things have been bought on sales, hence the unbelievably low prices.

1. Bell Sleeve Draped Jkt - Originally from Miss Sixty for 20SD; Callie’s Picks price - 22SD
I remember that I got this jacket the second it was released I couldn't stop wearing it afterwards. I was (and still am, by the way) so impressed with its unusual design - I'm a huge fan of wide sleeves and large collars plus I really love dark red and burgundy. Since then it just collects virtual dust - it's too demanding and dominating a piece. Honestly, I can't tell if I would've bought it now had I not owned it already - it's interesting but impractical and not so cheap.
2. Purse Inspired by Dolche Gabbana - Originally from Archive for 6SD; Callie’s Picks price - 10SD
I bought this even before it was released in Archive from Bizou. It was a set with a really awesome pair of platforms and I do wish they had released the shoes instead because I've gotten so much more use out of them. On it's own the purse it's (more than) a bit tacky and definitely not worth that much.
3. Over Knee Boots - Originally from Fallen Angel for 2SC (transferred currency); Callie’s Picks price - 10SD
Boy, these are old! I think Stardoll released those (also in black and grey) even before the over knee boots became trendy again a few years back. Back then they were pretty interesting new thing, now their just old and you can tell that by the flat graphics and that strange thing that is supposed to be a heel. I wouldn't even pay the 2SD I originally gave for them, 10 is a robbery.
4. Sheer Dress - Originally from Sonia Rykiel Tribute for 34SD; Callie’s Picks price - 32SD
It's interesting that the current price is actually lower than the original one - now I feel a little bit cheated. I've already said how much I like this dress when I styled it (in a very boring way) for my "Wear It All Challenge" (here). Most Sonia Rykiel items are very wanted and quite rare, not to mention stunningly beautiful, so had I not had it already I'd surely be buying it now.
5. Knit Armwarmers - Originally for Miss Sixty for 6SD; Callie’s Picks price - 6SD
I got these like five years ago when I was going through my gothic/puck/rebel teenage phases and I was obsessed with gloves, especially when they were fingerless. I don't think I've worn them for years and I don't think I wouldn't have bought them now but I think they could look good under a top or a jacket with long black sleeves and I might just give them a try some time soon.
6. Red Signature Bag - Originally from Rio for 1SD; Callie’s Picks price - 14SD, Superstar exclusive
I'm sure this was purchased during a sale (which once upon a time was a monthly event if I recall correctly) but even leaving that aside it's original price could not have been more than 3SD. How it got up to 14 Stardollars and why is it a Superstar exclusive is beyond me. I only know that it sure as hell ain't worth it!
7. Fishnet Tights - Originally from Miss Sixty for 10SD; Callie’s Picks price - 100SC
OK, now I feel more cheated. Just like 5. I bought this in my teens when I was all about fishnet stockings and tights, now I don't think I would pay so much for them, mainly because they are just a little too big for my doll's legs and a fishnet so wide seems tasteless. However, I do like how they look on the mannequin's black legs and I think I will try to achieve similar effect on my doll with a pair of black tights underneath. Plus, now that  they are in Starcoins you may want to give them a second glance.
8. Red Black Ride Booties - Originally from Pet-รก-Porter for 7SD; Callie’s Picks price - 9SD
I really like those, even though the left one is a bit too wide at the ankle. The design is interesting, the colours complement each other quite nicely and I appreciate the silver detail one the sole. Had I'd not had them I may had given some thought about buying them, especially after the disappointing shoe selection at Nelly.
9. Port Purse - Originally from Rio for 2SC (transferred currency); Callie’s Picks price - 5SD
I'm always on the lookout for red accessories and let me tell you, Stardoll's selection of red bags leaves a lot to be desired. And keeping that in mind this clutch is a pretty decent piece with an interesting design. Is it worth it? I'm really not sure - 5SD is not that much but I doubt I would've paid that much.
10. Striped Scarf - Originally from Bonjour Bizou for 2SD; Callie’s Picks price - 6SD
In my Nelly haul I talked about my obsession with scarves and this one is pretty damn cool - very hip, very casual, very well made. I'm sure I would've bought it in an instant.
11. Tulle Waterfall Dress - Originally from Voile for 7SD; Callie’s Picks price - 30SD
I adore this dress - the design, the colour, the length... I simply adore it and I said so in this post. However, I adore mine, bought for 7SD. Even if it was on 50% sale that would still make the original price 14 Stardollars, which for it's average texture is a reasonable price. The current one is twice as much! And, it pains me to say that, it's simply not worth it.
12. Maroon Glitter Platforms - Originally from Rio for 61SC; Callie’s Picks price - 9SD
I have an issue with red shoes on Stardoll because even tough they are generally nice, they are rarely great. It's the same with this pair - it's OK but nothing special. Still, I really liked it (and still do for that matter) because of the colour, and the chunky heel and the fact that they look well both with pants and skirts/dresses. Of course, this is hardly an elegant shoe but it works just fine for everyday outfits. But the main reason I liked it was because it was in Starcoins and it was so great to have them for such a reasonable price. No way I'd pay 9 Stardollars for them.
13. Red Lapin Coat - Originally from Young Versace for 20SD; Callie’s Picks price - 25SD
This was a very last minute purchase when the Harrods store was closing down and I regret buying it. It's just too impractical. The problem with statement jackets is that they are harder to wear and can either make an outfit super cool or absolutely ruin it. Anyway, I've always though this was a very classy piece - the colour is nice and I really like the sleeves, the buttons I don't appreciate so much but still, I like it. It looks amazing in all black outfits but after you style a few of those it will get boring pretty fast. Not worth it.
14. Rose T-bar Heels - Originally from Je T'aime Pretty in Pink for 5SC (transferred currency); Callie’s Picks price - 9SD
I don't know why I've decided to buy these back in 2010, when Je T'aime Pretty in Pink was released. I probably thought they were cute. Now that I'm older they've lost their appeal and I don't think I would've bought them even foe Starcoins.

Over the years these 14 items have cost me 122 Stardollars and 61 Starcoins, if I wanted to but them in the current release that price would've gone up to 192 Stardollars and 100 Starcoins. I hope it was interesting for you to see how much both my taste and the Stardoll economy have changed.

Haul: Nelly

Last Friday we finally got a new collection of Nelly, heavily marked (as seen above) as been one of the few remaining real brands on Stardoll. I do like the comparison of the virtual clothes with real versions, as evident by my tenancy to try and show something similar in the "Wear it all" section here on the blog.
So, back to the two new floors of Nelly. I know a lot of people loved the collection, and generality I did too - I bought two thirds of it, but I can't help complain about the drop of quality in the store with each collection. For goodness sake, I've seen free dresses with better design than the Chiko Slip Dress! Just compare the pumps in this collection with the Studded Stiettos from Velvet Orchid (a stunning Starcoin item, worn here and here) or take a look at the last two floors of Nelly itself to remind yourself how much better it was!
Now, that being said I do like the street style this store gravitates around, the pieces can be worked in a variety of styles and the colour scheme is to die for. The prices were relatively affordable with no Starcoins items but neither Superstar exclusive ones.

As I said, I went completely overboard this time, with more than one impulsive (and unnecessary purchase). I bought 21 items, which as I've stated is two thirds of the collection. I had just received my monthly Stardollars and I'm really bad at keeping money in my pockets (both real and virtual). What's even worst is that I'm still gunning for a few additional items like the Love Fighter Jeans (ripped boyfriend denim is hard not love) but I think I'll wait for a sale. The reason I got so overwhelmed with this collection is because it sticks very close to my real life style - large handbags, long jackets and oversized sweaters. Let's take a look at what I bought and why:

1. Off Shoulder Heavy Knit - 24SD
This was one of my more unconsidered purchases, yes it's pretty, the colour is versatile and the shape is interesting but I'm quite unsure how it will look when I try to layer it, especially over a dress (with a belt underneath, may be?) and the price is a bit steep. Still, it looks so cozy and fluffy and comfortable I just couldn't help myself. Plus, the off shoulder sweater is a personal favourite of  mine in real life.
2. Tartan Wool Scarf - 13SD
The previous one may have been unconsidered, this was unneeded and unnecessary - he graphic is flat and unrealistic, the shading is terrible... I honestly don't have a single good thing to say about this scarf. So why did I buy it then? Because it's a scarf, a tartan scarf at that! I love scarves in real life and I often try to work them in my doll's outfits but I'm having trouble finding the right shape or colour and this is why I keep buying new ones - I need to have as many alternatives as possible. However if, unlike me, you're a sane person, I would not recommend buying it, especially for that price.
3. Quilted Backpack - 18SD
I don't wear backpack in real life. Often I wish I did (when going out for a bike ride or a concert) and if I had a similar one, I'd put it on a bit more often. Stardoll does leather well and this is no exception, the design is not bad at all, but the most important thing about this is piece is the way it's worn - it's unusual and eye-catching. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't always fit too well with bulkier tops and jackets.
4. Tres en Vouge Sweatshirt - 19SD
Oversized sweatshirt. In black. With awesome print. Should I say more?
5. Cetus Skirt - 14SD
I actually wasn't planning on buying this - I really like the texture of the fabric, the shading is also surprisingly good but the pockets ruin it for me. The main reason it turned up in this haul is my recently discovered need of good undergarments when resized clothes show the skin of my doll underneath. Additionally I think it looks quite good hidden by the oversized sweatshirt and I may toy with that idea.
6. Tartan Socks - 8SD
I got these for pretty much the same reason I bought the scarf. The difference is that I actually think they are reasonably well made. I've already seen them worn in a few interesting ways so I'm looking forward to using them myself.
7. Platform Ankle Boots - 13SD
I find it sad that these I are the only shoes I liked from the entire collection. Usually there are some killer heels in Nelly but not this time around. These are pretty ordinary but I love the shiny leather, the chunky heel and, most of all, the ankle strap.
8. Twist It Down Tee - 16SD
This tee is amazing for so many reasons! First of all, it's very well made. Secondly, the twist at the bottom is one of those realistic details I love so much and it looks great tucked in. Finally, the colour - the light grey is such  refreshing change from the classical white but it's just as versatile. 16SD for a T-shirt may seem like a bit much but it's so worth it!
9. Tartan shirt - 15SD
I bought this out of sheer frustration that I don't have the Young Hollywood one. It's not nearly as good but it's as close I'll get. I'm still not sure how much use I'll get out of it but we'll see.
10. Vegan Leather Pants - 17SD
At first glance I didn't like those - the crotch looks weird and the graphics could've used more work but the more I looked at them, the more I liked them. I noticed they are cropped above the ankles, the hem line, the wrinkles around the kneed. And then I realised I actually like them! They are more elegant than the pair in Original Future yet more casual than those released in the Dior Tribute earlier this summer.
11. Urban Expression Bag - 15SD
The bags in this collection are definitely top notch . I love large handbags and when I see one in StarPlaza I'm always drooling over it. I like the zippiers and the handing strap but I'm not so keen on the gold details. Still, it's an interesting enough piece and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it.
12. NLY Cardigan - 22SD
Yet another item stolen right out of my real closet. I have a super long cotton cardi in this exact shade, how could I not get the Stardoll version as well?
13. NLY Dress - 20SD
I really like this dress paired with the cardigan. On it's own, not so much. I love the top part -the girly jewel decoration contrasts so well with the dark colour but the skirt has a little bit more volume than I would've liked it to. I purchased it for two main reasons: 1. when a tad enlarged it would do a great job as a back part of the cardigan when worn with jeans or short skirts/ dresses and 2. with a nice skirt covering the bottom part the top would look awesome! I already have a few outfits in mind!
14. Box Sunglasses - 9SD
I didn't buy those to wear them (or at least not on my doll's face. In hand - may be), I'm putting together a sunglasses display in my main room and I'm trying to fill it in. And these are a pretty spectacular pair to look at.
15. Oversized Coat - 28SD
The most expensive item in the collection is certainly not for everyone, though I do not consider it overpriced - most coats currently in store are all in the 20-30 SD range. There is something masculine in the silhouette, the bended collard is an unique little touch and the golden zippier is an eye-catching detail. It's as versatile as most coats on Stardoll can be but for me personally, it's a nice addition to my wardrobe.
16. Stripped Top - 12SD
I have strong mixed feelings about this top. I bought it because I really hate splitting sets (though I rarely wear them together), I like the skirt combo and the print is quite cool. I also like how it looks under the coat and I can see it paired with high-waited trousers. All that being said... it just looks so flat!
17. Stripped Skirt - 13SD
I may be unsure about the top, but this skirt I love! It's minimalistic but it also demands attention and I can already see it worn in so many different ways from business smart to sporty casual. For 13SD, I'd call that a bargain!
18. Everyday Bag - 13SD
Here we are - my favourite piece of the collection. Remember how in my Original Future haul I complained about Guitar Strap Purse costing 13SD? Well, compare it to this leathery perfection and tell me that they are worth the same. This is the ultimate handbag - smart, simple, elegant, exceptionally well made. If I only had to buy one item from this release, this would be it!
19. Wool Fedora - 9SD
Hats are a guilty pleasure of mine, especially fedoras. I know they don't fit my doll and yet I keep buying them. I can't help myself! Absolutely wasteful purchase but... I'm not even try to justify that one, moving along!
20. Black and White Cardigan - 26SD
This one reminds me of an Antidote fur jacket I would never pay hundreds of Stardollars for no matter how much I like it. I'm quite happy I found cheaper and perfectly decent alternative.
21. Kayleigh Collar Top - 15SD
Collar top with sheer details and pretty embroidery. How could anyone say "no" to that?

Dear God, that was a long post! I don't even want to do the math to see how much I've spent (and trust me, I already did!). All in all, I'm quite happy (and a little bit ashamed) about my purchases given that most of the things I've bought are pretty basic and versatile. Still, the sheer work of listing them all here is enough to dissuade me from similar shopping sprees in the foreseeable future. The 25th issue of Callie's Picks came out today and I'll cover it as soon as possible before I get back to my yellow dresses.

OOTD: Sequins and Denim

I'm working on my Nelly Haul (which is considerably longer than the Original Future one) but I won't be able to put it up today. In the mean time, I wanted to share a recent outfit along with (part) of my newly redecorated (and still unfinished) main room. I really, really love that look - it's glamorous and yet casual and I love that combination. It was built around the Strike a Pose Stockholm Jacket w Purse, which I like so much, mainly because of the blue bag and the slightly lavender colour but I found a bit challenging to style.

Clothes:
Stockholm Jacket w Purse - Strike a Pose
Bicard Top - Fallen Angel
NY Used Denim - Young Hollywood

Accessories:
Faux Python Belt - Wild Candy
Rose Gala Platforms - MSW

Tattoos:
Peaches Blue Lily - Ink'd

Haul: Original Future

On Wednesday last week we got new collection of Original Future. I'm quite happy that the store has finally found its identity. When it first opened it was a bit incoherent - a lot of bright colours and bold prints with a few decent items but not a particular style. In recent releases it was finally decried that this was going to have a sporty chic vibe and since then Stardoll have stuck to that. The collection has a little for everyone, including some male clothes and though personally I find the pink cheetah print a bit outdated and the beaded top too tacky, some of the younger members may like them. The only Superstars only items are the No5 Purse and the Prada Inspired Dress, which to me is more of a coat and even though I find it quite interesting I'm still not sure if I'd purchase it. I'm just having trouble imagining it fitting my style.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the sports trend I found the collection quite appealing. I only bought five items but I have my eye set on the SD Baseball Jacket and the black bustier as well so that number may get up in the future. In the and it turned out for the better that I limited myself because the new collection of Nelly was coming out on Friday and I really went crazy when it was released. But more on that later, now let's take a look at the goodies!

1. Gold Foil Sweatshirt - 14SD
This is probably the least versatile item I bough but I couldn't help myself. Autumn is officially here in Bulgaria and the golden fit the season perfectly. It would've looked even better in burgundy but the black is not bad at all. I love the rolled up sleeves - they add realism that lacks in, say the Prada Inspired Tee. All in all, it's a decent item that would fit in my wardrobe with ease.
2. High Waist Pleather Pants - 15SD
These are my must-have from the collection. High-waisted, cropped above the ankles, slightly loose - what's not love about them?  I like the wrinkled texture - another realistic detail that contributes for a more casual feel that would look great clashed with a pair of stunning heels. The only thing I don't like about these is the waistband but that is so easy to hide it's not even worth mentioning.
3. Cotton Tank Dress - 15SD
A simple well fitted white dress is not common on Stardoll. This on is perfectly nice but nothing special. The main reason I got it is for layering. Too often I find myself in need of a basic undergarment (especially when resizing clothes) and I'm always on the lookout for something I could use as such. Other than that, the dress is a decent piece but there's one thing that bugs me about it and it's the name - that smooth shiny texture looks nothing like real life cotton!
4. Guitar Strap Purse - 13SD
This was the one thing I wasn't sure about. First of all, what is up with the purse prices? In earlier Original Future collections (and other regular non real brand stores, for that matter) than bags and clutches hardly ever cost more than 10SD. PPQ bags range between 14-16SD! The main reason I'm ranting about that is because I don't really like this purse. The strap is gorgeous but the white part doesn't work well with it in my opinion. They both look amazing separately but together, I'm not so sure. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do about that - I'll probably hide the purse with a black clutch or something. Still, 13SD for a bag strap is really not worth it.
5. Platform Runners - 130SC
I'm not a sports person. I rarely ever wear trainers in real life and the same goes for my doll as well. Still, I can't help liking those, probably because of the platform. Had they been costed in Stardollars, I wouldn't have bought them but given that I'm constantly hoarding Starcoins, this seemed like a great way to spent some of them.

Ch-ch-changes

After almost a full month of inactivity I have finally decided to stir things up a bit here so I'm introducing a few changes to the format of the blog. I'm still determined to put together at list one outfit with every single clothing item from my virtual wardrobe (after that, who knows - I may try to the same with my accessories.) but lately I found that it was pretty limiting going through the sections in which it's organised. I know it's also a bit boring seeing few similar outfits in a row but for me that is the neatest way to work it out.

So I decided make that just a segment of the Skeletons of a Medoll, called "Wear it all challenge" (you'll notice the renamed posts and the new tag). Along with that I'll be posting random outfits my doll is wearing, which will be at least a bit more fitting for the fall under the "OOTD" tag. Yet another new tag, though not really segment is "Competition Entries". It's used to note that the particular outfit has been created for some sort of competition - for example the ones held at Stardoll's Most Wanted or for Cycle 7 of FM-Style, in which I'm taking part at the moment.

Another thing I'll be posting from now on are Haul posts. I was pretty reluctant about doing theses because they take me a great deal of time but they are also one of the things I'm most anxious to see in the blogs that I follow - both in Stardoll and in real life. Currently I'm working to cover the new releases and the posts will be up later today.

If you guys have any suggestions for segments you'd like the see here, let me know. Till then, I'm leaving you with a classic:

Wear It All Challenge: The Hidden Slit

Yet another dress I never thought I would buy. The graphic is a bit flat and the top part is downright off-putting. I was so focused on that I never gave it second glance. That is until I saw someone somewhere wearing a gorgeous yellow maxi skirt with a hardly visible slit - it was so beautiful - translucent, elegant and oh-so-bright! Imagine my surprise when I realised that was the same ugly MM dress. Still, I was reluctant to buy it - I already had two yellow maxi dresses, both of which with better quality graphics. In the end what really sold it for me was the slit - I've said before how much I like slitted skirts and dresses - they are sexy but stylish and not too revealing and that's hard not to love.
Styling it was also surprisingly easy - the outfit came together on it's own. The dark blue jacket looks stunning against the colour of the dress, the plain shirt adds for a more casual look and the straps of the sandals make for a great accent.

Wear It All Challenge: Lemon and Lime

Here we are, in the yellow dresses section of my closet! It's a short one but I think it's going to be exiting. We're starting it off with a real brand dress by Miss Sixty. It's an OK piece in my opinion - the bottom part is beautifully draped, the colour is sunny and adorable but the straps are a bit weird but that could work for their advantage as they make for an interesting neck line. The waist may be a tad problematical as it kinda look like something a pregnant woman could wear but that's an easy thing to hide.

I liked this outfit way better while I was putting it together than I do now. No idea way! The colour doesn't go all too well with my doll's completion, but I'm too lazy to change that at the moment.  I really, really wanted my first look to have something green in it because I do love the combination and I think it looks quite well here. The paler collar top also does a good job of covering the waist and it's colour compliments the bag and the bracelet. However there's something off with the whole outfit and I can't put my finger on it. Oh well, what can you do!?

Two in a row

I know that wen I first announced the rules for winning a wish-list item for most monthly comments I stated that I won't give out gives to the same person two mounts in a row.

However, the last post I published featured the last red dress in my closet and I'm so exited I just had to commemorate the moment.

In addition, JanaStarlite 's comments have been so nice I just wanted to thank her for them. Congratulations, once again, dear!

I do hope the rest of you guys become a bit more active so that next month you can be in her place.

Wear It All Challenge: Juliet All Grown Up

I love the bottom part of this dress so much - the way it drapes, the slit, it's so perfect! It's a shame I can't find the original real life inspiration behind it. But I'm not done looking, I even asked  Ms.Brigitte to help me on that one, and if she can't find it, than no one can! You should all check the Inspired By section she has on Stardoll's Most Wanted.
This is yet another dress I only bought after seeing someone wearing it in a way so perfect it was beyond words. The said person was FashionMonarch, who has some amazing couture creations. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to have her look saved neither in her album nor in her photos so I can't show it to you, but you should check her out nonetheless.
The outfit you see below is my take on the one I remember she wore around the last MSW - she used the same enlarged necklace to cover the top part of a lavish blouse she had crated. As far as I can remember her look was luxurious buy yet unrevealing, I on the other hand wanted to show off way more skin so instead of following the neckline of the choker I decided on a revealing cleavage and slashed sleeves.

Wear It All Challenge: An Apple A Day

Remember that collection of PPQ that was in Plaza for a limited time only? The main reason I do is accused I had a bunch of Stadollars, I was freaked and for some reason I decided it was awesome. Boy, do I regret it now.
I've stated that I'm obsessed with maxi skirts and dresses and each time I see one I'm compelled to get my hands on it. Originally I thought this one would be perfect for a Melisandre inspired look but it's so odd. I really, really like the veils but the waist is so bulky and shapeless! In real life that could easily be fixed with a statement belt but on Stardoll it's a bit harder than that.

I had to fight my initial urge to throw a jacket at my problem with the waist but that is the point of this blog - to challenge myself and look for solutions out of comfort zone. The red and white combination is similar to the one in my previous post, but the shape of the blouse covers the waist in such a perfect way I could not resist pairing them together. To highlight the newly crated waistline of the dress I added a silver belt, which works pretty well with the slightly greyish hue of the blouse and it's darker details. I finished the outfit with sandals in the same off-white colour and a clear clutch.
