Haul: Fallen Angel

So forever ago we got new Fallen Angel collection, which was revived with great controversy among the community for not fitting the store's Gothic style because of the all pink glitter. For me that's utter nonsense - Goth does not always mean all black (a classmate of mine choose on a pink prom dress but still managed to showcase her style in the design and the make-up). Additional Fallen Angel is not just the "Gothic store." First of all, a lot of the previous collection have been decided to other alternative styles (punk, new wave, industrial). If anything it is the edgy store, where fashion meets the trends of certain sub-cultures (including a collection inspired by science fiction!).
I personally, liked the collection. Yes, as any other it has its flaws but nothing seems rushed or unfinished, an issue I had with the recent It Girls release. I don't like every single item, on the contrary - I don't care for the Mesh Overlay Dress or the Vampire Teeth Jeans or the Shimmer Tiles Skirt and I do see how much better the Pink Sequin Shirt would've been without the pink. I have the same problem with the Lilac Leather Peplum Top - it's such a lovely and well made piece but the three colours used in it just does not work well with each other.

I ended up buying six things for now but I will surely get Lavin Inspired Dress at some point - the shape is very flattering, the colour is nice and the texture is amazing. I'm also strangely drawn to the Gothic Bedazzled Jeans for some reason and I really like the PomPom Headband - it's so fun and whimsical, however I'm not sure how much use I can get out of it. I have yet to make up my mind about the Iridescent Taffeta Set and the Dior Inspired Heels - all three items are very well designed and have great potential but at this point I'm still not sure how to use them.
So, let's take a look at the things I purchased so far:

1. Houndstooth Knit Coat - 22SD
I think this was the most popular item in the collection and it is my favouritism one. Admittedly, it looks a little flat (and that's due to the lack of proper shading) but I love both the shape and the print - the design has a certain bohemian feeling to it but the modern monochrome print balances it quite nicely.
2. Metal Peplum Sweater - 16SD
I should've given that a little more thought before purchasing it. I really love the off-shoulder sweater and that's why I rushed to buy it but I find it a bit difficult to style it. The leather on the belt is made amazingly well but it's challenging to match it with a skirt. It would've been so much better if the two pieces were separate.
3. Pink Lucite Choker - 82SC
From a far I really liked this, but when I zoomed it in, the deatails seemed a bit weird to me. However, it's fairly decent Starcoin piece (the only one in this collection) and if you have nothing else to spend your coins on, it's as good a purchase as any. By the way, a while back I was obsessed with chokers but lately I prefer loner pendant necklaces and unfortunately for me, there are not a lot of these on Stardoll.
4. Open Knit Sweater - 14SD
I love this sweater - the  casual shape, the colour combination the see-through achieved via the distressed fabric. It's all very grungy!
5. Plaid Plastic Combat Boots - 12SD
Now, these may not be for everyone, but they certainly are a must-have for me - I love the plaid/tartan trend in footwear, I love combat boots and I'm quite intrigued by the plastic soils. Yes, they could've used a bit more work (especially the left one) but I still like them.
6. Peacock Feather Coat - 16SD
I almost didn't buy this because the graphic is really quite disappointing - the feathers should have been a little darker and shinier and the shades should've been deeper and more visible but I really, really love the colours and the idea and I'm sure I can put it to some interesting use.

OOTD: Printed Monochrome

So while I'm preparing my next haul (can you guess what it's gonna be?) I'd like to show you an outfit I created with one of my favourite pieces from the recent collections. I put together an all-black look underneath this lovely monochrome coat/cape and decided on bright red accents to contrast it - I've always liked bright accessories with black & white clothes, both on Stardoll and in real life. The entire look is very fitting for the season and I can't get over how much I like it!

Clothes:
Houndstooth Knit Coat - Fallen Angel
Rope Looped Sheer Top - Voile
Cropped VNeck Tee - Strike a Pose
Black Cigarette Pants - Windows of the World
Bra Top Peach - Underneath Stardoll

Accessories:
Red Patent Leather Handbag - The JetSet
Geo Spike Pumps - Christian Louboutin Tribute

Jewellery:
Sharktooth Earring - It Girls
Right Dimple Piercing - Sunny Bunny

Haul: Callie’s Picks - True Blue

So this week we expect the next issue of Callie's Picks and I figured it was about time for me to put together this post before it's too late again. Once again it featured some rare and wanted items such as the Terry Hearts Gown and a few tribute and real brand pieces. The single Superstar exclusive items is the Denim Dotted Dress, which was part of Stardoll's not-so-successful idea for weekly HotBuys. The price range at this point is the usual 4 - 30 SD and there were five StarCoin pieces, one of which - the Notebook Clutch, being the best item in the collection in my opinion. If you ask me the assortment is not bad all even though it's not very appropriate for the season - the variety of short dresses and gowns would've been better in a spring/summer release. However the all-blue layout literally makes my eyes hurt so let's get over it as fast as possible!

For me it was an appealing collection - I love blue both used in accents and as the focus in a outfit. Additionally, I don't mind gowns and impractical dress and I enjoy finding a way to use them. However, I purchased only eight items because most of the things I wanted I had already bought at the Bazaar or when they were first in the Plaza. The only thing I consider going back for is the Sapphire Puffball Dress, originally from Elle. Let's take a look at all the pieces from this release that ended up in my suite:

1. Feather Cross Gown - 28SD
We start off with an really impractical piece. I have mixed feelings about the print and the shape can be unflattering but I just love the feathers on shoulders - they remind of Sansa's look at the end of the last season of GoT. The whole dress has a certain ASOIF vibe - the colours of House Arryn, the unconventional shape. I will definitely use it in a look inspired by the books or the show.
2. Notebook Clutch - 84SC
My only real must have from the collection. I saw it ages ago in an all white outfit paired with the Bold and Buff Shoes and it has been on my whishlist ever since. The shape is simple but the colour is vibrant and beautiful, which makes it an eye-catching detail. I was so surprised to see it for StarCoins, given that back in the day it was released in Voile Holiday Boutique! Just go and get it before the next release - you won't regret it!
3. Cropped Sheer Shirt - 13SD
I really like coloured collared shirts - they a refreshing change from the white ones and just as any collared shirt  can be used in a variety of ways - on their own or underneath other tops/sweaters. Additionally, I have a thing for sheer tops and even though the graphics on this one are a bit flat, it's still a decent piece. By the way, the buttons look so realistic!
4. Printed Sky Blue Skirt - 20SD at Callie's Picks, originally from PPQ and bought for 60SD at the Bazaar
As you can see, I got this for triple its current price so it must be obvious that I like it. I generally like pencil skirts, the length is a bit short but still not slutty, I love this colour and the print is absolutely spot on -  it's integrating without being too dominant. The quality of the graphic is also very good.
5. Glitter High Wedge Plums - 13SD
I love platforms - I said it in my MSW haul. I simply can't resist them, even when I know they are not worth 13SD. I may have a problem. :)
6. Metallic Woven Purse - 15SD at Callie's Picks, originally from Dolce & Gabbana Ttibute for 12SD
I'm really not sure why I got this one in the first place. Maybe back in the day something in it appealed to me -the shading is nice and the lock is interesting, but now I wouldn't have spend that much money on it.
7. DvF Blue Sequin Wrap Dress - 30SD
I was surprised this was the most expensive item the collection (I expected it to be the Terry Hearts Gown) and I think that 30 SD is a little bit too much, especially given that I'm not crazy about the colour - I prefer that shade for accessories. But the slightly oversized shape, the neckline, the sleeves and the shading are all so perfect!
8. Side Draped Silk Dress - 17SD at Callie's Picks, originally from Voile Holiday Boutique and bought for 30SD at the Bazaar
I love this dress - the shape, the colour and the graphics are all flawless. Yes, it's impractical but it's also SO PRETTY!
9. Double Blue Belt - 84SC at Callie's Picks, originally from Special Offer for free
I don't really have a lot to say about this one. I got it for free and I think I've only used i once or twice. Still, if you're looking for a something to spend your Starcoins on (after you've bought the Notebook Clutch!) you may be able to put it to some use.
10. Bold and Buff Shoes - 12SD at Callie's Picks, originally from RIO for 6SD
I've always liked this pair, and even though I think asking double their original price is a bit steep, I still believe they are a good buy. Plus, I can't wait to style them with the Notebook Clutch!
11. Floral Pleather Jkt - 16SD
Recently I've been noticing this jacket in multiple interesting outfits all around Stardoll suites and the blogs I follow and I really regretted not getting it while it was still in the Plaza. I find the combination of tough materials and feminine details such as flowers very appealing and it fits my style rather well. I was very happy to see it come back and save me the effort of looking for it in the Bazaar.
12. Bahamas Top - 9SD
I remember how much I liked this top when it was first released but back then there was no Underneath Stardoll store and it was too revealing to be useful. Not things have changed and I'm exited to be able to put a decent outfit with it.
13. Strapless Evening Dress - 16SD at Callie's Picks, originally from Bonjour Bizou and bought for 20SD at the Bazaar
I can recall that when this dress came out I hated it but couple of months ago I  remembered it and became determined to get my hands on it. I don't know what changed my mind but all of the sudden I really wanted it. Both the texture and the shading are quite appealing for me, the top part is very integrating and now I really love it. How things change, huh?
14. Turquoise Foldover Purse - 7SD
This is probably my second favorite item from the collection, even though I don't like the way it fits (or to be more precise - it does not!) in my doll's hand. However that can be easily fixed and both the colour and the shape are too good to pass them out.
15. Chunky Knitted Scarf - 11SD at Callie's Picks, originally from Archive for 5SD
I've had this once forever and every time I look at it I get angry because it could've been such a great piece! The idea behind the is interesting and the shape is nice but Stardoll has dropped the ball at the texture and at the shading. Seriously, just a little bit more work, that's all it needed! Asoloutly not worth the 11SD they are asking for it!
16. Shades of Autumn Hat - 14SD at Callie's Picks, originally from Gucci Holiday Tribute and bought for 33SD at the Bazaar
The Gucci Tribute was released when I wasn't on Stardoll so often and therefore I missed it. So when I came back I was casually through the Bazaar and I spotted this colourful fedora (and I've shared my love for fedoras) I just had to have it.  Yes, it's impractical, yes it does not fit my doll very well but it's a fedora!

OOTD: Burgundy Fall

I'd like to share a look I put together for Stardoll's Most Wanted Hot Buys poll. I had strong mixed feelings about purchasing that dress but I adore this outfit - the charcoal commitments the burgundy so well (it's a deeper and darker version of my beloved red and grey combo) and the gold details are consistent from head to toe. I love the black lining peaking underneath the dress's hem and at the neckline - it frames it so well. It was surprisingly easy to deal with the aspects of the dress I did not care about: the oversized coat covers its weird shape and the choker and belt hide the black fabric at the neck and waist.

 Clothes:
Charcoal Streetstyle Overcoat - Strike A Pose
HotBuys Chiffon Dress - Rio
Black Beaded Sheer Blouse - Bonjour Bizou
Frilly Layered Skirt - DKNY
Black Sheer Tights - Rio
Bra Top Peach - Underneath Stardoll

Accessories:
Solid Gold Choker - Riviera
Western Buckles Belt - PPQ
Burgandy Brogue Heels - Velvet Orchid

Jewellery:
Sharktooth Earring - It Girls
Right Dimple Piercing - Sunny Bunny

Haul: It Girls

I'm determined to use the weekend after this very quiet week on Stardoll to catch up on my haul posts so that I'd be able to focus on my Wear It All Challenge and get the time to share the bunch of OOTDs I've been hoarding lately.
So way back we got a new It Girls release, which was received reasonably well in the community, mainly for it's fur coats. However, for me it was a bit disappointing - yes it has very high highs (featured in my haul) but its lows are disturbingly low! A lot of the pieces look unfinished and lack any shading whatsoever (namely the Beckham Bell Bottoms and the Azures Dress). The shoes, in spite of their interesting designs, were nothing special in my opinion and as much as I adore maxi skirts I couldn't bring myself to buy the Fall Floral Skirt - its length it's too weird for my taste, I don't care very much for the colour combo and, once again, the quality of the graphic is ridiculous!

Other items, such as the Fuzzy Sweater Dress and the Savannah Pants (inspired by Balmain) were not bad at all but simply failed to connect with me. In the end I purchased six items and the only thing I may consider coming back for is the Steel Taffeta Dress but I'd like to see a few people actually wearing it before I made my decision.

1. Deep V Wrap Dress - 16SD
This is without any doubt the best buy from the collection! First of all, the texture is amazing - you can almost feel the fabric, admittedly the shading falls on the flat side and they could've put a little more effort in it but the design is so versatile it makes you forgive any flaws. It's a very modern twist on the classic little black dress but it also can be used as a stunning coat. Just perfect!
2. Lace Tight High Thighs - 7SD
It's a shame how often I forget to add a pair of thighs or leggings to my outfits, especially given how much I  love them in real life - they are a life-saver in the colder months! And these are so pretty! I love decorated stockings and I couldn't resist those.
3. Striped Silk Blouse - 13SD
I like everything about this piece - the design, the print, the length, the sheer texture!
4. Lady D Bag - 12SD
I find this to be a bit overpriced given its size but thankfully I can resize it easily. The colours is great and it's perfect for the season, the details are amazing and even though the shading at the bottom part leaves something to be desired it's still a great piece, inspired by a classic fashion item.
5. Ivory Faux Fur Coat - 24SD
OK, this is not worth 24SD and I'm fully aware of that - the overall quality of the graphic is very low and that's most obvious in the shading (which is crucial for furs) and the odd buttons. However, the colour is very flattering, the shape is interesting and I love the way it sits on my doll's shoulders.
6. Beckham Faux Fur Coat - 26SD
The most expensive item of the collection and the single Superstar exclusive item in it is quite impressive at first glance and even though it has some minor flaws I really like it. The colours compliment each other perfectly, it looks very relaxed on my dolls shoulders, I've seen it styled in a variety of ways and I have more than a few ideas how to use it. Initially I thought it's a bit expansive but then I remembered that lately all coats on Stardoll fall in the similar price range so don't let that put if off.

Haul: MSW

This post was in my drafts for so long that I had completely forgotten about it! Last week, when the 30% off sale was announced I remembered about it and was determined to finished it but things got in the way, such as projects for my university, spending time with loved ones, getting tattooed! and YouTube - I got obsessed with the vlogbrothers  and all their projects and they literally took every moment of my spare time.
Ironically when I finally found the time to post about the store it's the day after it disappeared from StarPlaza but I still wanted to share my thoughts about it and the whole MSW madness.
First of all, I want to congratulate FlorGatalinda10 for becoming Miss Stardoll World. Even though I personally don't like her style, I appreciate all the effort and hard work she must have put in the competition and the fact that she won means that a lot of people like what they saw in her. Therefore I find it uncivil and rude when people call her ugly and undeserving just because she does not fit in their perception of what MSW should be like.
Secondly, the fact that Stardoll decided to exclude all the countries, which did not manage to gather a certain (but unknown) quota of votes was discriminating, inconsiderable and deceiving. I understand part of the reasoning behind it but I think they should have made an announcement about the changes before the begging of the campaign. This was members from countries with less active Stardoll community would've been prepared and might have decided not to spend an obscene amount of Stardollars on broadcasting. I was even more revolted by the way they handled the outrage of the community when the semi-finalists were revealed. Their official statement took way too long to be drafted and it was just a slightly edited version of the response message that was sent out if someone asked them about the issue. That's just bad PR and as someone who is pursuing an academic and professional carrier in that field, I expected more of a company like Stardoll.
Finally, you may say that I have no reason to complain because even though my county did not make the final cut, I did not campaign and therefore I have not lost neither time nor money (which is something I'm very happy about). I decided not to participate in this years MSW because:
1. I don't think my style fits the pattern of the previous winners (which became even more obvious this time around)
2. My county has never been able to do well in the completion
3. I did not want to spend 8 Stardollars per broadcast message nor did I like the idea of spamming people and asking for votes
4. I was rather busy and I wanted to do something a bit more productive with my time
As you can see I kind of foresaw some of the things that would later on lead to so much controversy and was able to avoid them. However, that does not mean I don't have the right to be upset that Stardoll deemed my country unworthy to at least be featured in an Europe category nor should I stay indifferent by the way the deceived their customers for the sake of profit.

I'm sorry for the rant but I wanted to share my opinions. Now, let's talk about the store, which for me is the most exiting part of each MSW! The two floors were released separately, and even though the first one was a bit disappointing, the second one was exactly what I thought it should've been like (and the colour scheme was oh-so-lovely!). The store offered a wide variety of items for each taste: from formal gowns and cocktail dress through more causal every day pieces. The prices were on the expensive side with 10% off for superstars.

For me both releases were all about the accessories and most importantly - the  shoes! Even though I love gowns most of the dresses in this collection just were either too revealing for me or not made very well to be worth it. However, when the 30% sale started I went ahead and bought the Draped Leather Gown and the Sequin Web Gown (I was too lazy to add them t the picture below). Given that MSW clothes are not sellable I figured I'd regret not buying the two focal items of his year's collection. I will try to be very brief with the descriptions of my purchases so I'll say the most important thing here: I adore platforms - simple as that!

1. Rose Satin Gown - 32SD
This dress is so stunning it could've easily been featured in an Young Hollywood collection! It's so detailed and well shaded, the design is amazing and the colour is delicate and pretty. Yes, as most gowns it's highly impractical but it's also way too beautiful to be passed by.
2. Studded Bracelet Purse - 13SD
The stud lining is an interesting way to add edge to the baby pink purse but what I really like about is the strap - it's a simple yet eye catching detail.
3. Rose Gala Platforms - 13SD
These are my favourite item of the collection - the colour is amazing, the design is simple and they are so high! After I got them I could not stop wearing them!
4. Faux Fur Stole - 12SD
Winter is coming and this could be useful both for adding class to any outfit and for ASOIF cosplay.
5. Faux Fur Zebra Jkt - 22SD
I went back and forth debating whether or not to buy this jacket. On one hand, the graphics leave something to be desired. On the other, I like the idea for grey zebra prints - it's a twist on the classic white without being too flashy as the pink Stardoll often uses. But what convinced me in the end was the raggedy look so unusual for fur - it adds a grungy vibe I couldn't resist.
6. Sequin Tshirt Dress - 23SD
This was a very impulsive purchase, especially given the fact that I'm not usually into that sparkly dresses but for some reason I felt compelled to buy it. Maybe it's beavcuse I like the contrast between the simple, almost casual design and the sparkling fabric.
7. Relaxed Cotton Tee - 14SD
I've expressed my love for realistically looking items on Stardoll but this time they went the extra mile with the off-shoulder neckline, which is a favourite of mine in real life (especially now that I want to show off my tattoo!)
8. Skull Chain Clutch - 12SD
For the record, that's not a skull, it's a felinae's head! Add to that the red and gold combo and all I can think about is the Lannister sigil.
9. Tartan Booties - 11SD
I need these in real life! I love tartan and I adore chunky heels - simply a must-have!
10. Lace Up Booties - 10SD
I was very unsure about these - the design is very unflattering for the ankles - both for me in real life and for my medoll. But they are so well made - the shading is almost perfect!
11. Velvet Laces Boots - 12SD
Apart from being awesome and unusual, these give the opportunity to let you imagination and creativity run wild. Just check out the way ilgd styled them on the Stardoll Broadcast!
12. Black Gala Platforms - 13SD
I was so happy to see these in black! As I said earlier, I loved the rose version and I knew I'd get a decent use out of the black as well.
13. Tinsel Marabou Platforms - 13SD
I love the dusty rose colour but I must admit I'm not sure about the rest of the design. I guess time will tell if these were as good a purchase as the rest of the platforms but given that they are not sellabale in the Bazaar, I didn't want to be sorry for not getting them.

Haul: Tingeling Halloween Couture

As part of the pre-Halloween week Stardoll released a new Tingeling Halloween Couture collection, which I personally find odd, given that we haven't had a couture store release since 2010 to my best recollection and the fact that Tingleing was closed down. Both of these things have little if any significance but I think they should be mentioned with the revival of the brand. (More about that here). As I said earlier in my ModBod post, I was hugely disappointed with the release. The prices are on the expensive end of the average spectrum, ranging between 6SD and 36SD with no Starcoin items and a single Superstar exclusive item. The graphics are mediocre and give me the sense that the whole store was rushed out and only relies on the designer inspiration (mainly McQueen and Westwood).

For me the largest disappointment is the potential that was squandered here: the length and texture of the Tick Patent Trousers are both perfect but the sparkle is too much and the shading (or lack thereof) is hideous; the Marabou Couture Coat could've been an amazing piece but too many thing went wrong there; the shirt and vest of the Vivienne Web Dress are both amazing and I would've loved if they were separated from the skirt. The same goes for the Combo Blazer Suit, which could've easily been three separate items - an amazing blazer, a two part underwear and a belt.

1. Bone Weave Dress - 23SD
This is a perfect example of the way this collection relies entirely on the brands it's inspired by - it's not all that well designed, it does not do justice to the source material but it's Balmain, for crying out, and I need to have it!
2. Star Stud Glove - 2x6SD
This is one of my favourites items in the release - even though it's delicate it makes for an amazing addition to almost any outfit and it is quite versatile - you can use it to accent the shoulders or a neckline or the way it was meant to. For 6SD a piece, it's probably my best buy from the collection.
3. Vivienne Red Purse - 13SD
Everyone who's been following the blog knows of my love for bags worn in less conventional ways and this one falls in the pattern. Plus, I really like the combination of red and gold.
4. Iris Dark Platforms - 10SD
OK, I adore heavy looking platforms with chunky heels - both on Stardoll and in real life and these have the added quality of being incredibly so unusual and unique and, by the way oh-so-well-made! Just zoom them in and notice the little triangle on the platform!
5. Full Taffeta Gown - 36SD
I know this is the most impractical item I bought but I simply adore gowns. The main reason I collect them on Stardoll is the simple fact that this is the only place where this is possible and until my impossible dream of having a closet full of them in real life (and places to wear them) is fulfilled I will have to be satisfied with its virtual incarnation.
6. Black Rose Bouquet - 7SD
I wanted this the minuted I saw it in the spoilers, not because I think they are particularly well made nor do I have an idea how to use them. But in the Gothic period of my teen years I was obsessed with black roses and just when I was outgrowing the corsets and heavy make-up, The Rasmus released the album Black Roses. Consider this a nostalisc indulgence to my-sixteen-year-old-self.
7. Marabou Petals Skirt - 20SD
The details on this skirt are so mind-blowingly well made I could just stare at them for God knows how long. Plus, it's high-waisted, it has a stunning slit and it's not too short (a issue I often have) - all in all, I'm pretty damn happy with it.
8. Electric Silk Top - 15SD
I'm in love with this super shiny texture! It looks even more awesome by the amazing shading but every time I look at it part of cries inside, why couldn't have Stardoll kept the original Iris van Herpen dress design!?
9. Trash Bag Gloves - 7SD
There is something about long black gloves that I simply cannot resist - I find them immensely stylish: classy and sexy at the same time. I have a satin pair in RL, which I git for my prom and I'm constantly trying to find a way to wear them.
10. Velvet Bow Handbag - 14SD
I wasn't planning on buying this but... it's so cute! Plus, it's very well made and currently I have a crush on all things velvet.
11. McQueen Eyelet Dress - 22SD
Unlike the Balmain inspired dress, I did not purchase this one because of the McQueen brand but for its distinct style - very delicate and babydoll-like but once you add torn leggings and a pair of combat boots it becomes so grungy in that specific 90s kinderwhore lead singer (here's looking at you, Courtney Love).
12. Marabou Soldier Hat - 10SD
To be honest, I still have no idea how to style this but it's such an interesting and unique piece I just had to have it!
13. Vivienne Platforms - 12SD
This deep maroon is one of my favourite colours ever and even on its own that would've been enough to make me buy this pair. The best part is that the more I look them, the more I like them: I love platform heels, the velvet texture is amazing and the straps are so cute! Definitely my absolute favourite piece of the collection.
A.

P.S.: I know I was supported to put this up almost 10 days ago but I was so overwhelmed with everything that happened I hardly had the time to finish it and I found it pretty hard to talk about the items I've bought.

Haul: ModBod

Happy Halloween, everyone! (Yes, I stared this post yesterday morning) I hope you all had exiting plans for last night and interesting costumes to match them! Unfortunately for me, Halloween is not really a thing in my country (although in recent ears that is slowly changing) AND I had kind of a bad and busy week so I settled for a calm night in with my boyfriend catching up on this week's TV series (and the occasional trick-or-treaters interrupting it).
Luckily, the rest of the world is not as boring as I am and Stardoll has been gearing up for tonight all week long, starting with this incredible new store, released on Monday. I love the whole concept, build around classic scary costumes rather than couture pieces forced to fit the Halloween theme (I'll get to that later today/ tomorrow ). I know it's hard to see that from the looks I've posted here so far, but one of my favourite thing to do around Stardoll is to create elaborate gowns and/or outfits inspired by my favourite characters and now BodMod has given me plenty to work with and I already have a bunch of ideas.
An added bonus is the fact that the store is surprisingly affordable with the most expensive item costing 26SD and four items in Starcoins (only two of which are worth your attention in my opinion). The other thing that caught my attention is that most of the more wearable pieces (the Skele Torn Tee, the Demon Coat, the Werewolf Torn Jeans) are Superstar exclusive.

I must admit I bought more than the half store out and I'm considering combing back for more (especially given my disappointment over the Couture Tribute). I really don't have anything bad to say about this collection - yes, some of the pieces are a bit too much for me (Warewolf Legs, seriously?) but it's a Halloween themed store and there should be something for everyone. The Beauty Parlor items are quite interesting but I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of them and I will not be including them in the post, however I will say that I'm in love with the Skeleton and Zombie faces - the first one fits the theme of my blog so perfectly and the other will be featured in a Lady Stoneheart  (huge Game of Thrones spoiler alert!) inspired look some time soon.
Now to the rest of the store, I'm having an incredibly difficult time deciding on a favourite piece or even look all together - both gowns are stunning, the zombie body is out-of-this-world-awesome, the werewolf top just fits spot on in my personal real life style, the coat is so fashionable, the doll dress is beautiful and creepy and romantic all at the same time and the skeleton outfit is made for this blog! I adore them all!

1. Zombie Hair - 9SD
I honestly don't think I would've purchased this if it didn't fit the current hairstyle my doll is wearing so well. Plus the dirt and the blood in the raggedy hair make it extra-creepy.
2. Zombie Dress - 17SD
Again, I love the dirty, bloody and torn fabric but I relay don't think I'll be using it in a zombie outfit as suggested in the store. I see it more in a warrior-like look layered with leathers and metals or as part of a Dothraki inspired look with (again) leather and earthy colours.
3. Zombie Body - 14SD
As I've said. my first though when I saw this was Lady Stoneheart but there are so much more delightfully creepy and intriguing thing one can do with it. Just browse around and be amazed of variety of creative ways people have styled it.
4. Ghost Hair - 14SD
Truth time: I hate horror movies! I don't mean all horror films, of course - meaningful films with interesting plots and horror elements don't bother me. I love Coppola's Dracula or Interview with a Vampre. I enjoy Tim Burton's quirkiness and I'm often fascinated with mystery thrillers. I'm not afraid of blood or monsters, I just can't stand cheap scares, sloppy acting and predictability. So when I first so this hair, so clearly inspired by Samara from The Ring I almost dismissed it immediately but I realised it has some potential, especially in decorating.
5. Vampire Dress - 18SD
Dark, and long, and torn - what's not to love about this dress? Yes, it's ungodly impractical but it's meant as a costume! Plus, it would work so well in historical outfits. By the way, I really hate the Vampire arms that go with it, yes I know posed items are currently huge on Stardoll but to me they just look odd.
6. Skeleton Hood - 9SD
The main reason I'm impressed with this item has nothing to do with Halloween and it's the sheer fact that for the second time this year Stardoll has released an item that can be considered a hijab, which is very considerate for both users who admire the Islamic culture and people who are actually part of it. Additionally, it reminds be of the hood Death wore in The Seventh Seal and I'm sure it can be adapted into various looks, even more casual ones.
7. Skele Torn Tee - 14SD
I have said that I have a sore spot for puns and this tee is named ridiculously funny! The top itself is  pretty damn awesome - very casual and relaxed but it makes one hell of a statement, especially when it's not worn as part of a costume.
-About the dress: in the picture above I've used the Basics Black Fitted Dress and I do know that it's almost identical with the Skeleton dress from BodMod. The main difference is the price (50SC vs 9SD) but if before the store closes they have a clearing sale I WILL buy the Skeleton dress because its length is perfect (unlike the way-too-short Basics one) and that makes all the difference!
8. Skeleton Body - 16SD
Last year for Halloween ilgd made put together this amazing post on the Stardoll Broadcast. The first look, crated by Miss.Gothic.999 literally haunted me all year long. I'm terrible with hair designs and I'm so happy that now I can finally put together a similar outfit. Now, I would've preferred if the base colour of the body was black instead of white and I would've loved it it the components were separate - a set of leggings, torso and gloves but I'm still pretty satisfied.
9. Skeleton Heels - 10SD
I love extraordinary shoes and this pair has a very editorial vibe while at the same time remains relatively wearable in a non-costume capacity.
10. Ghost Crown - 89SC
I adore this piece so much for so many reasons: 1. It's incredibly cheap, 2. It makes for an amazing statement accessory in any costume, 3. It reminds of the the crown worn by the Kings in North in ASOIF, which consists of long iron spikes and 4. It could be used as a corset decoration (and it looks stunning, by the way). Definitely a must-have!
11. Ghost Veil - 5SD
Veils are so versatile! Apart from their conventional use they could be used to add dimension to skits and dresses and be layered in elaborate outfits.
12. Ghostly Gown - 18SD
I don't think I could put my fascination with this piece in words - it's magnificent. The idea was amazing and the execution - flawless. The details are amazing, the colour - spot on.
13. Demon Horns - 9SD
I really like this piece but I was hesitant to buy it because I am not sure how much use would I get out of it. However it's lovely and unusual and unconventional and I would've regretted not getting it. Plus, it look amazing paired with long black hair underneath.
14. Demon Jacket - 26SD
This, apart from being a Superstar exclusive, is the most expensive item in the collection and it's totally worth it! I know that I will use it a lot and for a so simple item (a black coat) it's so elaborate and interesting and well designed. I just couldn't pass it.
15. Demon Shoes - 12SD
I have strong mixed feelings about these - the heel is amazing, the front part is a bit too much for me. In all honesty I bought them by mistake and a part of me regrets it but at some pint I will try to put them to good use (or just sell them once the store is gone)
16. Doll Hair - 15SD
Red hair is a weakness of mine. Until recently I had been dyeing my naturally brunette hair red for five years and my obsession with redheads was transferred on Stardoll as well - I buy every red dye that is released and I deeply regret that they are not more hair designers that make red wigs. Needless to say, the moment I saw this one I felt comped to own it.
17. Doll Arms - 117SC and 18. Doll Legs - 8SD
And Courtney Love's voice singing Doll Parts in my head. I wasn't planing on purchasing the legs because I neither like them all that much nor do I think they are worth 8SD but hated breaking up the set. The hands, on the other hand (get it?) are a pretty good deal if you're looking for something to spend your coins on.
19. Doll Dress - 17SD
This dress is absolutely a must have. It has that costume-t quality to it because of the torn top part (which in all honesty could've used a little more work) but the skirt is so lovely and romantic and it can be used on its own just by easily covering the top part.
20. Werewolf Ears - 2x4SD
Animal ears are not new on Stardoll, but these stand out because unlike any released before they are not attached to a headband or a hat and that gives them greater versatility.
21. Werewolf Hair - 13SD
I'm so disappoint in this one - the style is stunning but the execution falls short. And the colour is not that flattering either. But this too has some potential, if not for medoll, at least for decorating.
22. Werewolf Tanktop - 13SD
This is another one of my favourites in this collection - the print is awesome, the texture is interesting, the tears are made so well - they fit the Halloween theme but they also have a simple distressed quality which makes the top wearable at any time.I love the asymmetry that was crated by tucking a long top relatively high (even tough it limits the number of things you can pair it with).
